Hi! I’m Judith Lemmens, the maker behind Julems, a ceramics brand rooted in craftsmanship and creative exploration. Julems began in my home studio in picturesque Mill Valley, California. In 2021, I returned to the Netherlands, where I continue to shape my clay dreams.

My journey into ceramics began serendipitously. When planning a pottery party for my daughter’s 8th birthday, I discovered the Mill Valley Potters Studio. While the kids crafted delightful birdhouses, I was captivated by the studio’s magic. Soon after, I enrolled in classes and became immersed in the world of ceramics. Before long, I was dreaming in clay, envisioning endless possibilities in texture, color, and form.

Within a year, I set up my own home studio, where I discovered my voice in ceramics. A local art show provided the push to refine my focus, leading to an award-winning debut and the validation to pursue my passion wholeheartedly.

My Dutch roots and background in interior, graphic, and illustration design influence my aesthetic. From clean lines to bold geometrics, my work embodies simplicity, balance, and a deep connection to nature. Each piece is a unique exploration of harmony—individually distinctive yet complementary in a group.

With Julems, I aim to craft more than pottery; I create timeless, one-of-a-kind pieces that bring beauty and meaning to everyday life.
